Holiday Point Memories 2000's

Kids and Ice Cream - Life is Good

What could be better, a warm summer day, a great picnic and an ice cream cone on the grass. This is from the HP Annual Picnic in 2000.

The HP Girls and the Banana

Several HP members joined together to purchase the Big Yellow Banana . . . Kind of water tubing mass transit. Here a group of HP girls are preparing for a thrilling ride at the mercy of Bill M. boat driving.

Phyllis and Miriam - 2000

Phyllis and Miriam smile for the camera at the 2000 HP Community Picnic

Relaxing at the Beach?

Amy W. with Loren and Kyle. As the song goes. . . 'the two of you are proof that there's perpetual motion.'

Courtney, Holly and Lauren - 2000

Three little girls playing in the sand on a beautiful summer day. Holiday Point definitely is a place where childhood memories are made.

Norm and Paul - 2000

I don't know about you, but it looks to me like these guys are up to something.

Larry and Bernadette - 2000

Larry and Bernadette S. at the annual Columbus Day Party.

Al and Roseann at Beach Closing - 2000

Al and Roseann pause for a quick picture during the autumn beach cleanup and shutdown in the fall of 2000.

Annual Community Picnic - 2001

Sherry and Jack B. on one of their uncommon visits to Holiday Point for the community picnic in 2001.

Ice Cream and Picnics Just Go Together

Al and Roseann serve ice cream to the picnic goers at the 2001 community picnic. Do you know who the other two people in the picture are?

The Great Water Show - Reenactment

In 1977 (included in the photo album from that decade) the first great water show was performed with 7 skiers being pulled by a single boat. In 2001 they decided to try to reenact the event with most of the original people (now 24 years older).

The Great Water Show - Reenactment

Unfortunately it didn't go quite as well as the first time, but it was none the less just as exciting! By the way if you find a ladie's watch, it belongs to Susie Q!

The First Annual Golf Tournament - 2002

Some of the contestants from the first Annual HP Golf Outing. We may not be good, but we have a good time and throw great after the event parties.

The First Annual Golf Tournament - 2002

The rest of the field. The tournament was held at Candlewood Country Club in New Milford.

The Golf Outing Organizer

Ed. H. at the post outing party. Ed organized the event which promises to be an annual event for the community.

Another Annual Picnic 2002

Tom B. poses for the camera at the 2002 Annual Community Picnic. Guess we never get tired of these things, and rightfully so.

The Ultimate Party People - 2002

Joe and Dhanni P. at the 2002 Community Picnic. Each year Joe and Dhanni cater the picnic (which means it ends up being just another work day for them). We're all greatful though . . they ensure that there's plenty to eat for everyone who attends.

The Bicentennial Parade - 2002

Can you name these workmen? In October of 2002 HP participated in the Sherman bicentennial celebration by creating this float for the parade held in town. There's a separate complete photo album on the site dedicated to that terrific event.

The Bicentennial Parade - 2002

Some of the HP kids work hard to make sure the giant picnic table constructed by Bill M. and Norm L. doesn't fall off the trailer during preparations.

And then there was the band. Pooch, Missy and Steve, and Randy, Al and Bill provided the music for the Holiday Pointer's to sing to along the parade route. Included were the number one hit of 1902, 'In the Good Old Summertime' and a new Holiday Point Theme Song written by Al especially for the occasion. A great way to end a great year!
