And the Games Begin

Julia Q. concentrates hard as she prepares for the sack race. Looks like that sack is bigger than she is!

Competition . . .

PJ stays focused - hopping toward the finish line.

Cheering Crowds . .

Miriam and Phyllis look on as the kids compete for spectacular prizes.

The Latest In Grill Accessories

Not sure what Seb is going to do with that shovel, but it seems to be a bit of overkill for flipping burgers.

The HP Tree

If you look around carefully, you'll see that some of the trees on Holiday Point are taking on a very distinct personality!

Pooch - Having Good Day

Now there's the look of a guy who has just finished a great picnic lunch.

Sand Castle Building Is Hard Work!

Little Max W. takes his responsibilities as sand construction worker very seriously.

The HP Picnic Babes

Phyllis S. displays her new hat and a big smile for the camera.

Enjoying the Day

Looks like Pat H. is having a grand day, doesn't it?

Joe and Dhanni P.

A sincere expression of thanks goes out to Joe and Dhanni P. for all of their hard work and generosity in providing and preparing the wonderful selection of foods that we all enjoyed at the picnic.

Matt in a Serious Moment

This is way too serious a look for a picnc kid, he must be planning a game winning strategy.

All I Want For Christmas . . .

Julia on the other hand, isn't worried, she's just having a great time.

Happy Kelly Q.

So is this Kelly Q., or Hillary Duff???

Ro D. and Steve D.

Just look at that laugh . . What tortures are Steve and Rosie plotting for the HP kids?

It's The Wheelbarrow Race!

Kyle focuses on the finish line as Alyssa focuses on keeping herself off the ground.

Watch It Or You'll Catch Flies

Bernie Q. is nearly overcome by the excitement of the wheelbarrow race.

And Then There Was . . .

Can you guess what Ashley's doing?

THE LIMBO!!

Anthony demonstrates his double jointed technique for dancing the limbo.

How Low Can She Go?

Toni Renae easily clears the bar early on in the competition.

Limbo Groupies

Fern and son in law to be Keith watch on as the kids demonstrate that you can defy gravity when doing the limbo.

A Proud Mom

Missy has a look of pride (or is that bemusement) as her son approaches the bar.

As Proud She Should Be

Michael demonstrates incredible balance and concentration as he squeezes himself under the bar.

Competition Is Tough Work

Cara winces as she tries her best to get under the bar.

And On To The Pie Eating Contest

Steve D. reviews the rules for the pie eating competition. There were rules?

The Pie Eating Machines

Michael and Kyle dig in.

The Pie Eating Girls

Did you notice how the girls carefully approach their pie plates, whereas the boys were full face in right off the bat?

And The Winner Is . . .

And the winner of the pie eating contest was Joseph . .

The Horseshoe Champion

Norm is always willing to take on all comers in horseshoes. Just look at that form, that concentration, that swing. The mark of a champion - but where's your beer Norm?

Future Olympian

Micheal demonstrates his technique as he swims in from the float to the beach.

All Kids Love the Water

Gabrielle rescues a drowning ball from the lake.

Hanging Out On The Float

John, PJ and Judy enjoy watching the kids playing in the water from an excellent vantage point.

What Are They Looking At?

People massing on the beach looking out toward the lake. Did we tell you that we have the best view on all of Candlewood?

Laura H.

A moment with no kids - Yea!!!

The Greased Watermelon Competition

Cara M. emerges from the water with watermelon in hand, victorious in the greased watermelon contest.

Karen And Dennis

Another couple just enjoying the food, the fun and the day!

Susie Poses For The Camera

So . . . Is Susie preparing for a tonsil examination, proving that she didn't eat that cherry popsicle, or just expressing her editorial opinion about pregnant women getting photographed?

Max W. Checks Out The Shower

Max provides a demonstration in the operation of the newly installed shower at the beach, courtesy of Paul O. and Ernie K.

Summit Meeting?

We were honored to have our town's first selectman, Andrea, attend the our picnic. Here the leader of our town poses with the leader of our community Ed H.

Two Happy Moms

Susie and Heather caught in a more quite moment - at least a moment when they're not chasing their kids around the beach.

Another Happy HP Couple

David and Jane W. share a smile.

Bill A. Ices His Leg

A sore leg is no match for the attraction of the picnic and a can of beer.

Mom And Daughter

What can we say . . . Isn't this what the picnic is all about?

And Then There Was The Egg Toss..

Games leader Steve D. provides the kids with the rules for the upcoming egg toss.

The First Kid Out

Loren W. was one of the first kids to miss her catch and end up with egg all over her.

Egg Toss Expert Shows His Stuff

Anthony shows everyone how to keep you eye on the egg and get ready for the catch.

Jane Catches The Egg

Does this constitute double teaming?

Or Does She

Well . . It appears that even the assistance of a baby in waiting doesn't guarantee that you'll make a good catch!

Presidential Style

Ed's H. makes it look easy. Just look at that concentration!

Another One Bites The Dust

Kyle make a spectacular attempt to save this catch, but ended up with just a spectacular mess all over himself.

She Reaches . . She Catches?

Judy shows great form in this attempt at a catch, but actually the egg rolled on by - but didn’t break!

Another Focused Competitor

Al makes this one look easy, of course credit must also be given to a good toss - in this case from Judy.

Safe!

Tom Q. makes egg catching look easy, or was he getting ready for the 50 yard dash?

Close But Not Quite

Doris makes a great pose, but the egg doesn't make it to the next round.

Rosie Looks On

Rosie was one of the smart ones . . and enjoyed the egg toss much more as an observer than a competitor.

The Winner of the Hero Award

We don't give out many awards, but Bill M. thought that Ed was deserving for his leadership and contributions to the lake patroll. So . . Bill made up this medal out of a pickle jar cover just for Ed. What an honor!

And A Good Time Was Had By All

Once again . . how can you not just fall in love with all of these cute kids. Here is Julia Q. toward the end of a long day, and what a great day it was!
