A Celebration of the Shortest Day of the Year

Missy A. and Ernie K. smile for the camera as the party begins!

Our Fearless President Presides over the Celebration

Ed. H. takes a moment for the busy festivities to smile for the camera.

Where's the food?

Ro, Julie, and Mike wait patiently at the picnic tables for a pot luck dinner that couldn't be beat!

Bill and Bill

Bill M. is trying to negotiate with Bill P. to trade some short food for a tall drink.

Marie H. looks on in anticipation

Some people take the shortest night of the year very seriously. . .

June M. is having fun

. . .and some people are a little more light-hearted!

Eva P. checks out something on the ground

Eva's looking at the ground. Is it a treasure in the sand or a passed out party-goer? Guess we'll never know.

Da boys make fire

Since it was the shortest day of the year, all food had to be 'short'. ---Like shrimp cocktail, short ribs, little neck clams, and shortcake. Ed, Ernie, and Paul watch over the fire, prior to cooking some food.

Connie S. takes a break for a pose.

The evening included a large dinner contributed by the attendees. Connie looks like she's been enjoying a good, short meal.

Best Recipe of the Night Award

Michael P. won the award (an HP t-shirt that was just a little big on him) for the best 'short' dish recipe. He took a cupcake and cut off the bottom to make it short. Obviously everyone thought this was hilarious, because he's a proud winner.
